Well, that was quick. We’ve received a number of e-mails this week requesting our physical Retropie collections on microSD to return to the site, and after evaluating the possibilities, we decided to offer them again for a little longer. So you can go back to purchasing the physical items again, for the time being.
Now, we have some other great news also!
We are working right now on PC Emulation Collections that are ready to play, on 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB hard drives, that you’ll be able to just plug on your computer and play! This is significantly different from the current hard drives we are offering. On these we will also be able to offer systems that don’t work on the Raspberry Pi properly, such as Atomiswave, Naomi, SEGA Saturn, GameCube, PS2 and the Wii!
An official announcement will follow in the next couple of days!
We are also continuing work on our Retropie Themed collections, as announced last month. These will be offered in a limit basis and will only be offered when they are 100% ready to produce. When ready, we will publish a video showing the collection working on the Raspberry Pi 4 (we are probably going to offer these only for the Pi 4), and customers will have a 2 to 4 week window to place their orders. After that, the collection will not be available anymore. These will be offered as physical items only! And will have deluxe cover, color manual, large DVD case and mini case for the microSD card. We are thinking about including some other extras, but we are afraid it will impact the overall cost. It’s in the works!
Again, these are the 4 collections we are working right now: “RPGs”, “Shoot ’em Ups”, “Beat ’em Ups” and “Soccer” games.
Each of these will have their own exclusive themes, plus 4 other themes you can pick from those that are part of our regular selection of themes, including an Arcade 1UP theme for people that are modding their Arcade 1UP Cabinets.
The likely order in which these will come out are:
– Beat ’em Ups
– Shoot ’em Ups
However, we’ve not decided yet. That order might change. Soccer might be the first out, since it’s the one closest to completion right now, but we would like to release them on this order above.
We also have planned other types of themed collections such as “Racing”, “Sport” and “Puzzle” games. We are planning to have one Themed collection every 2 months for the Raspberry Pi 4.
